About our puppies:
All litters are raised in our living room. So, the pups get plenty of attention.
Pups are watched on a regular basis to assist in temperament determination,
quality of nose (for hunting), personality, etc.
All puppies undergo temperament testing to further aid in successful placements.
Puppies are worked with early on with house breaking and crate training concepts.
Puppies are provided challenges to help them learn to think.
Puppies are introduced to obstacles and different environments enhancing their self-confidence.
Puppies receive daily individual attention starting at Day 7 of their young life.
Sire will have certified or prelimed OFA hips and elbows, and Eyes are CERF.
The Dam will have certified OFA hips and elbows, and Eyes are CERF.
All puppies are handled individually from day 7.
All puppies are socialized with people and other dogs.
All Shadow Mtn™ Labrador Retriever puppies bred always have a home "here" in the event
you have changes in life circumstances.
The focus is on all-around Labrador Retrievers, because Shadow Mtn™ Labradors wants dogs that fit easily into the family. Shadow Mtn™ Labs are family members first, but they love to show, work in the field, etc. We start working with puppies at day 7 of their life. We continue introducing them to a vast array of different environments through the early stages of puppy hood. This enables the pup to adjust to different locations, different scenarios, thus making the transition into a new home easier. It also helps during travel. This provides for wonderful family oriented companions.
Additionally, we spend a great deal of time observing the puppies. This
enables us to watch for different traits and personalities of the Labrador
Retriever pups. This information coupled with temperament testing assist
us in placing puppies in appropriate homes.
A Few Things Potential Owners Should Know
Our litters of pups will most often have black puppies & chocolate puppies.
We feel the over all quality of a chocolate labs coat and type is better when one parent has a black coat color.
Most of our available puppies are pre-sold. Meaning we usually have a
waiting list of people
who want one of our puppies.
If you are chosen as a potential owner we do require a deposit.
All of our "pets" are sold on a Spay/Neuter contract with a limited registration.
